Unidentified woman found dead in Gulu hotel fire

Gulu central Police station are holding a one Mr Patrick Kinyera in regards to the death of an unidentified teenager who is reported to have died in one of the hotel rooms at hotel Roma in Gulu town after it caught fire.
The incident that happened on Wednesday Morning is said to have started from one of the rooms of the hotel before it spread to the other rooms.
An eye witness identified as Mr Patrick Kilama who is also a boda boda rider told Daily Monitor that they saw smoke coming out of the hotel, something that prompted them to go find out what could be going on.

We managed to save Mr Kinyera and a girl who immediately took off after she was rescued, but at that time they were both drunk. As we were still removing other properties, we found a dead body of a yet to be identified womam in the bathroom of another room that we later learnt that it was being occupied by Mr Kinyera,’’ Mr Kilama said.

Mr Kilama says they cannot tell what could have happened to the woman whose body was found lifeless.
At the time of compiling this report the hotel owners had remained tight-lipped in regards to the incident.

Aswa region police PRO Jimmy Patrick Okema confirmed the incident and the arrest of Mr Kinyera adding that the body has been take for post-mortem at Gulu Regional referral hospital.
“We cannot tell exactly what happened, the suspect is still drunk but when he sobers up, he will make a statement and we start from there,’’ he said.
Mr Okema cautioned the hotel owners always to crosscheck with the guests they host in their hotels.
