Anita Namata, new signing Shamirah Nalujja, Asia Nakibuuka, and talisman Juliet Nalukenge were all on target as Kawempe Muslim outclassed Muteesa I Royal University 0-4 in their new Fufa Women Super League (FWSL) encounter on Saturday in Kabojja.
Kawempe, alongside Lady Doves, now lead standings with six points in two games while Muteesa are bottom with a negative goal difference of seven.
Kawempe, who won four league titles in the previous top flight league (Fufa Women Elite League), started the season with a 2-0 home win over Uganda Martyrs High School (UMHS) Lubaga.
But the Lubaga-side have rejuvenated their early season with that 2-1 home win over coach Faridah Bulega’s Kampala Queens on Saturday to move from eighth to fifth in the FWSL.
Brenda Munyana opened the scoring for UMHS but it was cancelled by the on-form Fauzia Najjemba’s spot-kick. Latifa Nakasi ensured UMHS could secure the points when she scored the winning goal in the 78th minute.
Speaking 78th minute goals, in the other encounter of the day, Fazilah Ikwaput struck in the same minute to ensure Lady Doves secured another win and condemned She Corporates to a second straight loss of the season.
The Masindi-based side coached by coach John Ongodia trail leaders Kawempe by just two goals. The sides, however, will have stunner tests when they face other sides like Uganda Christian University (UCU) Lady Cardinals, Kampala Queens and Olila High School.

Starts
Meanwhile, in the now second tier FWEL, there were routine wins for last season’s top flight sides like Isra (2-0 over Tooro), Dynamic Jjeza (1-0 over Wakiso) and Makerere University (0-4 away to Amuria High School).
Elsewhere, Rines SS shared spoils with Asubo-Gafford after the former’s goal from Yuster Kayesu was cancelled by Claire Namatovu’s stoppage time equalizer in Wakisha.
The weekend also provided a mixed start for Town View SS – Bugiri in Lira. Town View beat Vision 2-0 on Saturday then lost 1-0 courtesy of Zam Akullu’s goal to Lango Queens on Sunday.
