Vipers SC have wasted no time in raiding the local transfer market after selling their high profile midfielder Moses Waiswa to South Africa ABSA Premier Soccer League (PSL) side SuperSport United for approximately Shs183m ($50,000).
They have signed three players with the fourth yet to be confirmed.
Waiswa, 22, who inked a two- year deal, is the latest player to leave the Kitende-based side to earn a living abroad. The lanky player joined Vipers from Vaxjo United FC which plays in Division III in Sweden, during January transfer window in 2017.

He was part of the Vipers team which won the 2017/18 Uganda Premier League and capped a wonderful season as he was named 2018 Airtel Fufa Footballer of the year.
He made his Cranes debut in 2017 and was set to be part of the team for Afcon but injured his knee during the training camp in United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The renaissance
Mike Mutyaba was the first to go in 2011 when he joined El Merreikh of Sudan for Sh147m ($40,000).
Yunus Sentamu, was next in 2014 after Chan in South Africa, joining AS Vita of DR Congo for undisclosed fee, he was followed by Joseph Mpande who went to Vietnam after Vipers 2015 league title.
Next was Faruku Miya, who moved to Standard Liege for Shs1.5b ($400,000), but the fee included the sign on fees for the player. Milton Karisa joined Morocco side MC Oujda (Morocco) for approximately Shs550m ($150,000) in 2018.
Nicholas Wadada, after leading Vipers to the league title in 2018, joined Azam of Tanzania for a fee of around Shs37m ($10,000).

Disappointing season
The poor performance of the side during the 2018-19 season in which they surrendered the league title rivals KCCA, knocked out Uganda Cup by Proline has forced Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa, the club owner to raid the local market in a bid to winning the title back.
Rashid Toha, a centre back from Onduparaka, striker Allan Kayiwa from Tooro United and midfielder Siraje Ssentamu, a free agent from URA FC, have so far joined the Venoms. The fourth player, right back Paul Willa is yet to be unveiled.
But Police FC , coached by Uganda Cranes interim coach Abdallah Mubiru, claim they still have a contract with him.
