The much anticipated guest performer, Wizkid, hoped on stage a few minutes past 11pm miming his debut single, Holla at your boy. For a moment the crowd was drowned in hysterical cheers. Revellers pulled out their smartphones to take a recording of the self-proclaimed ‘Star boy’s performance
Nigerian superstar not only teased Kampalans on Wednesday during the Guinness All Black VIP party, but also left a mark in our music industry that Nigerian music will not easily be washed away.
Before Wizkid (real names Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun) took to the stage, Ugandan artistes like Navio, Cindy and Chameleone performed to a less interested crowd.
Celebrities were not given any special treat. Everyone was VIP. It was interesting seeing Irene Ntale, Nigerian standup comedian Basket Mouth, Chameleon, Cindy, Maurice Kirya, Judith Heard among others mix and mingle with revellers in the crowd.
The much anticipated guest performer, Wizkid, hoped on stage a few minutes past 11pm miming his debut single, Holla at your boy. For a moment the crowd was drowned in hysterical cheers. Revellers pulled out their smartphones to take a recording of the self-proclaimed ‘Star boy’s performance.
Wizkid never disappointed. He treated his fans to fine Nigerian music performing both his singles and collaborations like Tease Me, On top of your Matter, Show you the Money, Carol, The Matter among others.
In the culmination of the event, Wizkid said; “When you go back home, please tell all my fans who were not able to come out tonight that it wasn’t my fault they didn’t get an invite. Hopefully, I will come back to Uganda for a much bigger concert.”
The invite-only event garnered over 1000 guests who were treated to free Guinness all night long.
