You need help too

I see so many people reaching out to people and it’s always heart-warming. Having said that, the concept of balance sometimes is forgotten. This is what I mean.

If all you do is help and never pause to seek for help or support yourself then, you are mistaken. It’s the law of giving and receiving. You have to be open to both.

For example, if you are preparing food for the guests, there comes a time when you have to pause and eat. Why? Because you could actually collapse in front of your esteemed guests if you over stretch your giving arm. In fact, the smart ones eat first and then serve later.

The principle being that you will need energy before you can go out there to offer energy giving foods to others.

Part of what I do is coaching. I have noticed over the years how it’s easier for some people to pay for their own children or even friends but themselves.
Somehow, it appears as if, people out there need more help but not the originator of the thought.

So, what does this all mean at a practical level? Well, I am a heavy supporter of helping.

The older I get, the wiser I become and one of my discoveries is how asking for help or support is underrated. Either out of ego, ignorance or sheer belief that no help is needed is a misplaced idea.

None of us is perfect. None of us is an island. We all can use an extra hand of help or support.

But it takes wisdom and humility plus courage to notice and ask. When will you ask for help?
