Chaos ensued in Wakiso after police on Friday arrested Busiro East MP aspirant, Mr Emmanuel Magoola moments after his nomination.

Police officers led by OC Wakiso division, Mr Joseph Kamukama asked Mr Magoola to stay in the room after his nomination but allegedly snubbed the police directives.

“We got information that Magoola had planned to lead a procession in Wakiso town and that’s the reason why I picked him up with my officers and personally delivered him safely at his home,” Kamukama said before warning candidates against disobeying police and government directives in a bid to contain the spread of Coronavirus.

However, Magoola told his supporters that he was determined to unset the incumbent Medard Lubega Sseggona.

“I know last time I was cheated but this time around all our ears are on the ground and when I come to power,  just expect me to serve you with all my heart and also bring services to my people,” said Mr Magoola.

Mr Sseggona, however, has been telling journalists that all those aspiring for his seat should look elsewhere because he’s going nowhere.

Mr Tolbert Musinguzi, the Wakiso district returning officer said the exercise went on well.

“I have so far nominated people from Busiro East, Busiro North, Busiro South, and Entebbe Municipality and I expect to finish today,” said Mr Musinguzi.

Minister for Luweero triangle, Mr Denis Ssozi Galabuzi who is also the incumbent Busiro North MP was nominated as he seeks to retain the seat.

Entebbe Municipality MP Rosemary Tumusiime Bikaako was nominated as independent after she lost in NRM primaries while Mr Michael Kakembo was nominated on NUP ticket for the same seat.
