Former chemicals boss burial set for Sunday

The former chairman of Quality Chemicals Industries, Xavier Kitaka, who succumbed to coronavirus at the weekend, will be buried on September 20.
According to the family funeral programme released yesterday, there will be online Mass streamed live starting at 5pm  from today to Thursday. 
On Friday, there will be a requiem Mass at Rubaga Cathedral starting at 2pm and burial will take place at a private function at Bunamwaya, off Zzana Town in Wakiso District on Sunday at 11am in observance of the Covid-19 restrictions .

Two others positive
Dr Francis Kitaka, the deceased’s son, said two other family members also tested positive to Covid-19 and were taken to Namboole isolation centre last Saturday.
“As a family, we agreed that we let the public know that he died of coronavirus. Our sister, who was looking after him in hospital, has also tested positive and his houseboy. They have been taken to Namboole isolation centre,” Dr Kitaka told Daily Monitor by telephone yesterday.
He said his father,  a biochemist and animal health expert and businessman, succumbed to the virus at Mulago hospital after spending 10 days in the Intensive Care Unit. 
Dr Kitaka said the entreprenuer’s lungs failed to work on their own and he was put on life support but later suffered multiple organ failure.
The deceased was born in 1935 in a family of six to Celestino Mayambala Musoke and Monica Musoke.
