IGP Kayihura finally transfers interdicted Gulu DPC

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Gen Kale Kayihura has finally replaced the suspended Gulu District Police Commander, Joseph Akiiki and transferred 10 other police commanders.

Akiiki was interdicted after he was shot by a security guard in November 2017 for illegally accessing Taks Centre. Now, Gen Kayihura has relieved Akiiki of his duties as Gulu District Police Commander and replaced him with Emmanuel Mafundo from Maracha District.

He has appointed Faustine Oyese, the former Gomba DPC to replace Mafundo in Maracha. The transfers are contained in a message issued this afternoon.
"The following officers are transferred with immediate effect," reads the message signed by Gen Kayihura.

SP Syamutyangira Simon from course to Adjumani as DPC

ASP Robert Kuzala from Otuke to Gonna as DPC

ASP Edwin Turyomwe from Moroto to Otuke as DPC

ASP Twaha Buyinza from Kyankwanzi to Butebo as DPC
