Police in Sembabule District are hunting for a parent who allegedly attacked and beat up a school head teacher after he reportedly sent his children home to collect birth certificate fees.
The incident occurred at Kirembe Muslim Primary School Mateete in Sembabule District on Tuesday when Mr Jamil Mwanje stormed the school and reportedly pounced on the head teacher, Mr Jamil  Magezi inside his office, for sending his three children home to collect the fees for processing their birth certificates.

According to one of the teachers at school who preferred anonymity   to speak freely about the incident, they were busy conducting lessons when they heard the head teacher making an alarm inside his office.
“We ran to his rescue only to find Mr Mwanje engaged in a physical fight with the head teacher, accusing him of sending his children back to home to collect fees for processing birth certificates,” the female teacher said.

The teacher said Mr Mwanje escaped immediately after the incident.
Mr Godfrey Tumwekase, the chairperson Mateete Sub County condemned the incident, saying  it was unnecessary to physically attack the head teacher, adding that Mr  Mwanje’s attack was uncalled for.

“As local leaders, we are going to ask to help police in pursuing Mr Mwanje who went into hiding following the incident," he said.
Southern Regional Police Spokesperson, Mr Muhammad Nsubuga confirmed the incident, saying Mr Magezi has already recorded a statement with police and investigations into the case have started.
