Police at Katwe are holding a man on allegations of  forging a  police warrant card.
The suspect is accused of impersonating a detective assistant superintendent of police (ASP).

His arrest follows a complaint of one Emma Yonah Wovugira, who  came to police to consult on what could be done to an officer, who failed to fulfill his obligations of payment.
“The officer came to me on June 5 and asked  me to hire my car, a Toyota Prado, at Shs130,000 per day. He left his warrant card behind as security. He has failed to pay the money since June. I reported him to police,”  Mr Wovugira noted in his statement.

The deputy police spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan, Mr Luke Owoyesigyire, said police found that the name on the warrant card does not exist in the police system, and the written force number was for a police constable attached to another unit but not an ASP.
The case file has been forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions for advice.
