What you need to know:

Kyamagero was killed between September 13 and 14 allegedly by Joseph Nuwashaba, 22, who had been welcomed by the deceased’s family in May after claiming he was homeless.

Police yesterday handed over the body of a five-year-old girl in Masaka City who was beheaded and the killer delivered her head to Parliament disguised as a gift to the Speaker.
Police handed over the body to the parents at City Mortuary in Kampala.
Mr Charles Twiine, the spokesperson of Criminal Investigations Directorate, said all the necessary medical examinations on Faith Kyamagero, the deceased,  for the investigation had been done.

“The DNA of the body and the severed head matched. The DNA of the deceased also matched with that of the parents. We delayed with the body because we did not want to have a situation where we would be required to exhume it to do other more inquiries,” Mr Twiine said.
Police transported the body to Masaka yesterday evening.
Kyamagero was killed between September 13 and 14 allegedly by Joseph Nuwashaba, 22, who had been welcomed by the deceased’s family in May after claiming he was homeless.
Nuwashaba was later arrested at Parliament with Kyamagero’s head, claiming it was a gift to Speaker Rebecca Kadaga. Mr Twiine said the suspect’s motive is not yet known.

“If he was used by someone, we need to know it now before taking him to court. It serves no purpose to remand him without knowing why he did it and then get similar cases soon,” he said.
Mr Charles Ssenyonga, the deceased’s father,  also questioned the suspect’s motive since “he was very obedient, humble and hardworking the time they stayed with him”.
Ms Gloria Kentunguka, the girl’s mother,  said they had bought the suspect a phone as he requested three days before the killing.
