A village chairman in Mubende District has died in a shrine where he had reportedly been admitted after he fell sick.
Police say Anania Salongo Mulindwa, a-56-year-old LCI chairman of Kayunga village in Myanzi parish, Myanzi Sub County in Mubende District suddenly died in a shrine after a long illness.
It is alleged that Mulindwa was taken to Mr Asuman Kazibwe Salongo’s shrine on March 3, 2018 while seriously sick for traditional healing by the relatives from where he died on Monday, March 5, 2018.
Police visited the scene and recorded statements from the 29-year-old traditional healer and the deceased’s relatives.

Wamala Region police spokesperson, Mr Norbert Ochom says the body of the deceased was taken to Kiganda health centre IV for postmortem.
“The body will be given to the relatives for burial arrangements. General inquiry file has been opened and the traditional healer and relatives of the deceased have recorded statements,” says Mr Ochom.
