KAMPALA.

Tough times call for desperate measures, so they often say.
But as the current fiscal times leave many living on shoe-string budgets, South Africa-based pay television company DStv have offered their loyal Ugandan customers some relief with an exciting offer.

With the football-mad and sport-loving global audience poised not to miss out on the tense and action-packed European (Uefa Champions League and top five leagues), MultiChoice Uganda have announced a better and affordable package.
The biggest beneficiaries are the DStv Compact subscribers.

Market leaders
Two new channels (SuperSport 11 and 12 will cater for the English Premier League and Spanish La Liga respectively) were yesterday added to the DStv Compact bouquet and availed to the Ugandan customers.

“To keep our position as leaders in the video entertainment industry,” Marketing Manager MultiChoice Uganda Albert Nga answered at the press launch when asked about the latest development yesterday

“We listened to complaints about prices from our customers and did some research, then came up with a few models like this.”
With SS11 (DStv Channel 211) ready to telecast Saturday’s crunch English Premiership tie between Arsenal and Manchester United, the package will also entail other games, highlights, magazine programming, pre-match analysis and panel shows.

Two channels
Similarly for SS12 (Channel 212), the Spanish derby between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid will be relayed live on Saturday.
The Uefa Euro Championship set for June 10 - July 10 is also part of the package.

Interestingly, the new package offers value addition at no cost. DStv Compact subscription remains at Shs128,000 per month.
“This is basically to say hello to our Premier League and La Liga fans on Compact bouquet,” Tina Wamala, the company public relations officer, told Daily Monitor.
“Besides being exciting, this is a big game changer for us as MultiChoice.”

Nga added; “Literally, this is for those looking for more value out of our decoder.”
According to MultiChoice Uganda sales manager John Kiryowa, prices for new DStv HD decoders and accompanying accessories (minus installation) have been lowered to Shs130,000 with a free month of Compact viewing.
