Health ministry receives visual aid equipment worth shs375m
Joyce Moriku, the Minister of State for Primary Healthcare, has called on all Ugandans to take special care of their eyes in order to avoid preventable blindness.
The minister made the remarks during a ceremony at which Standard Chartered Bank donated equipment for treating eye diseases worth 375 million shillings to the Ministry of Health.
The ministry of education was also given a grant worth 337 million shillings for an integrated schooling project meant to cater for visually impaired students attending regular schools.
