Cindy is the favourite female artiste of Ugandan teenagers while Bebe Cool is the Best Male Artiste. At the 2010 Buzz Teeniez Awards ceremony held at KCC Grounds on Saturday, Cindy also won the Best Dancehall Artiste award.
Meanwhile, the day-long gala was not without frolics. Lanky star Rabadaba stepped out to receive his Teeniez Breakout Artiste award in a school boy style; in school uniform, a school bag on the back and holding a metallic case as if ready to return to school, sending the largely student crowd wild. His Bwekiri hit also scooped the Teeniez Hottest Riddim beating Mr DJ, Bebe Cool’s Bogola Ko, Cindy’s Ayokyayokya and Jose Chameleone’s Vumilia.
But there was more drama to unfold. The Goodlyfe crew who bagged the Teeniez Hottest Group award had a good time on stage, working the crowd with their hits like Ability and, Potential, but they perhaps hadn’t anticipated provocation from the Eighton and Rain duo who are musically profiling themselves as the Goodlyfe duo’s nemeses.

They used their performance to provoke the Goodlyfe boys who were seated in the VIP tent, but the Goodlyfe kept their cool, just smiling as the Kiwoko boys sang that they lack potential, are full of inability and originality and that they cry Ole Ole like small babies, in reference to Goodlyfe hits.

Zuena performed while Weasel recorded the moments using his mobile phone. This was after her hubby Bebe Cool’s performance. Bebe had earlier made a grand entrance in a Hummer, Bafudde Range Rover and Honda CRV convoy.

“I’d like to thank the living God who has enabled me be here today and I dedicate this it to Him. To my fans, thank you so much. He is the biggest, titanic and untouchable,” Bebe Cool said before he invited Zuena to thank fans too and later on his the Kasepiki as he performed.

Deejay Shiru took home the accolade for the Wickedest Deejay while Benon of Swangz Avenue is the Teeniez Beat Maker (producer). Fashion designer and publisher Sylvia Owori is the Teeniez role model and she had some advice for the young blood. “You can be anything you want to be if you put your mind to it, stay in school and have protective sex if you must do it.”
NTV was chosen as Teeniez TV station and its programme The Beat scooped the award for Teeniez TV drama/soap/local show, while Pablo sqooped the TV personality award.

Other notable performances were by Aziz Azion, who won the Rn’b accolade, Cindy, Navio, GNL and upcoming artistes Empress and Gift of Kaddo whose performances could have booked them places on the nomination list come next year. Emcess Richard Tuwangye was a good choice as he tickled the audience with jokes and his attire; a school uniform.
