Taking a break from family duties

Annet Kiconco of Uzuri Fashion House assisted Njuki with her wardrobe;
“We focused on dresses because she says they are her favourite. We settled for the four dresses that suited her curvaceous body.

To complete the look, we accessorised the outfits with classy jewellery in different colours.”

The experience

Hope Nakabuye Njuki, the makeover candidate shares her experience;
“A few days before the makeover, my brother informed me about the nomination. He told me someone would call me up from Full Woman with more details. When you called, I was relaxed.

It was an exciting experience because I was doing a makeover for the first time. My favourite outfit was the flowered yellow outfit. It was bright and sunny. This is an outfit I would wear to church or to school with a coat over to appear more professional.

Coincidentally, I tend to wear dresses more. I do not own a skirt in my life. Also, I’m not a makeup kind of person. Most of the time, I tend to only wear either lip gloss or lipstick and I’m off for work. One lesson I picked from this experience is that decency is paramount in any profession.

Women should dress in outfits that suit their body type. Otherwise, the makeover is something I would do again if another opportunity came. Thank you very much Full Woman.”

Aaron Ttendo Kabuye, who nominated his sister;
“I got to know about the makeover on Facebook as I was reading a Full Woman story online about a woman whose husband had succumbed to cancer. Full Woman had given her a makeover to lift her spirits.

It was that story that inspired me to send a nomination to the team requesting them to give my sister a makeover as well.

My sister has been the backbone of our family since mummy’s and our elder brother’s recent death. I thought this would be a great way to reward her for all the good work she has done for our family. I have never seen my sister this way.

She looked beautiful and confident after the makeover. My two favourite outfits on her were the orange one and the flowered dress. I loved the bright colours of these outfits. I’m grateful to the team for considering her for a makeover.”

Nomination
Dear Full Woman team, I have seen you transform the lives of women by giving them a makeover that made them feel confident and beautiful.

I wish to nominate my sister, Hope Nakabuye Njuki, for the makeover. Having lost our mom 19 years ago, Hope filled the vacuum.

She has been a sister, mother, friend, confidant and adviser. She is a lecturer at Busitema University but unfortunately (as far as I’ve witnessed), I’ve never seen her “glam” up. She has sacrificed all the luxuries for the betterment of our family.

Please, I kindly request you to do this for my sister.
Aaron T. Kabuye.
