Most houses are spruced up when a woman adds creativity to it and has had some changes because the feminine touch has great impact on homes.
There are a lot of aspects that make the home look like one that is complete and people are living in it. In case you have no expertise in the field, you can ask an interior and exterior designer to have your home remodelled.
But this you do bearing in mind that it is a family home and is not only meant to be lived in by only females, the feminine appearance should be minimised so that the other sex can also feel comfortable living there.

Arrangement
Jacklyn Biira, an interior designer at Spaces by Jacklyn, says this starts from the arrangement of the items in the home - right from the living room, bed room, kitchen and the restrooms.
“There is that organised aspect a woman adds into the home that makes the home splendid.
“The difference between a house that a man has organised is visible because all they mind is fitting everything into the available space,” says Biira.
She advises whoever wants to achieve such a home to make sure even the accessories used match the arrangement so that the house does not appear cluttered.

Colour
She advises that the colour used should blend with the household items so as to avoid making the house appear uncoordinated.
“When it comes to the colour of paint used, brighter cool colours will enable you attain that look but one should differentiate between what is appropriate for which place so as to avoid exaggerating the look,” she says.
She further says the colour of the chairs, curtains and other accessories should be attractive and bright. The wall contrast should not surpass that of the accessories lest they look misplaced in the room.

Ornaments / accessories
According to Meridah Nandudu of Dah interiors, when an individual adds accessories like wall hangings, vases, rugs, pillows and many others to the house, there is a way it brings life to the house and it gives it that lovely atmosphere.
Ornaments are always associated with women and they know which kind suits which area of the house so having them add the touch to the house will make the it a nice place to be in.
More to that, she says a house with accessories always has a story to tell because each accessory used is able to communicate and tell the personality of occupants of the house.

Comfort
Nandudu says the cleanliness of the environment determines its comfort which a lady can make sure is done because they have a place cleaned on a daily basis.
You can also add some comforters like matching pillows, floor rugs, duvets that not only make you comfortable but also find joy in the place you are living in.

The gardens
Boniface Wanja, an exterior designer at Bonre Consultancy, Bweyogere, says gardens are meant to be nurtured so that they can turn out to be beautiful which makes it more time consuming and if someone does not have time, then he or she will not bother planting flowers.
He says there are many things you need to add to your garden to beautify the home, the most common ones that women like are flowers, lighting, walkways and playgrounds.
“This does not only add beauty to your compound but the atmosphere will also become fresh and welcoming to whoever is around that place,” says Wanja.

Curtains
Biira says having curtains that match or blend with the colour of the room makes the house look more attractive and the way they are matched will make it look feminine. Beside, it is usually women who mind about which curtains to have in the house.
She adds that it is the curtains that usually complete the look of the house and make it look like it is all covered because it determines which light gets into the house.

Furniture and cushions
Jacklyn Biira, says the chairs create a big impact in the room because that it the first thing that people look at due to the fact that they will be expected to sit.
She says much as bright colours are feared because they easily get dirty, the cushions should at least create an impact in the room.

Table runner
“When it comes to the dining, the chairs may be ignored but the table runner should be one that overshadows the dull colour,” says Biira.

What not to do
Jacklyn Biira, an interior designer says having a feminine touch is fancy for many ladies but exaggerating it may ruin the appearance.
She advises that the colour used should not be too much because the room will end up being a show room instead of a home. She says an individual should not use multiple colours especially when it comes to wall hangings, duvets, rugs, portraits, cushions and the colour of chairs. She further says the lighting should suit the house, bright lights ruin the mood and appearance of the room. “The look you attain after using accessories should portray simplicity so just a little would do because too much will clutter the room,” says Biira, adding that using the same colour for everything will ruin the look or even leave it plain.
