KAMPALA.

In a season largely deprived of outstanding individual performers, SC Villa attacker Martin Kizza has stood out in the club’s bid to end their 14-year league drought.
The left footed player has scored six goals in Villa’s last seven league games while all his nine goals thus far have been decisive either as winners or breaking the deadlock to help the club accumulate 19 points.
He will however be missing this afternoon after accumulating three yellow cards as the 16-time league champions take on Mbarara in one of three games in the Azam Uganda Premier League on card.
With six games to play, the Jogoos went into the weekend fixtures in second position level on 49 points with Vipers who led by virtue of a better goal difference and were due to play KCCA yesterday.
Kizza though is not the only player missing with first choice left back John Adriko also out for similar reasons while head coach Wasswa Bbosa starts a four match suspension.
Despite the absences, Bbosa’s assistant is counting on the presence of attacking midfielders Allan Kyambadde and Ambrose Kirya to help his side secure maximum points.
“Kizza has been our shining light this season but we have a balanced squad and we are looking at players such as Kyambadde and Kirya to make the difference,” Mukatabala told SCORE.
His team lost their previous game to title rivals Vipers and go into this game against a Mbarara side that occupies the third a final relegation spot but has collected 19 of their 26 points at home after 25 games.
Also in action are Express who lie a point and a game below Mbarara with six games left and are away to sixth placed Maroons.
