One person has been confirmed dead and five others injured after a bus accident that occurred today at Acwera Bridge in Nebbi District.

According to a survivor, Mr Souti Walisalawo, the accident happened when the truck hit the bus from behind which made it to swerve away from the road.

“The trailer was on terrific speed which proved hard for its driver to control, thus hitting the bus we were in. The bus driver immediately went into a comma and later died. It’s the co-driver that did all he could to save us,” he said.

The Baby Coach involved in an accident was from Paidha town in Zombo District heading to Kampala.

The OC Traffic Nebbi District, Mr Richard Olili, said the accident was caused by the reckless truck driver who was over-speeding.

“The high speed by the driver made it difficult for the bus driver to negotiate because the trailer was in the middle of the road. He is still on the run but we have impounded the truck,” he said.
