With four days left before the start of the greatest sports tournament on earth, the 2010 Fifa World Cup, Daily Monitor will tomorrow produce a free comprehensive guide to the tournament dubbed SA2010.

“The (SA2010) pull out is a World Cup bible previewing the month long tournament in 24 pages,” Daily Monitor Sports Editor Mark Namanya said. “It is a must read.” The pullout covers all the 32 teams; how they earned a place to be at the tournament with all the statistics, star players, who is in, World Cup history and their talking points.

In there too, is a story on former South Africa president and global icon Nelson Mandela – how he helped South Africa win the bid and how the bid itself was won among other stories.
The host nation South Africa open against Mexico at Soccer City at 5pm on Friday and Italy are the defending champions having lifted the Holy Grail four years ago in Germany.

More to come
Daily Monitor has for the past six months fed its readers on information on the World Cup through its weekly pullout dedicated to the tournament, Zakumi, and daily updates in the sports pages in the build up to the event.
