Four people die in Mayuge Road accident
MAYUGE- Four people, have Monday been confirmed dead in a road accident that involved two trucks.
The accident occurred at Musita Trading Centre in Mayuge District on the Iganga-Busia Highway when a Mitsubishi Fuso truck Reg No. UAZ 285H collided head-on with another truck Reg. No. KCJ 195K.
Busoga East Police Spokesperson, Mr James Mubi, identified the deceased as Juma Hussein, Hakim Kyandala and Hussein Bakali - from the same family; while the fourth victim was identified as Chris Wambede. All the dead were travelling on the Mitsubishi Fuso truck.
According to Mr Mubi, the driver of the Mitsubishi Fuso truck that was carrying tomato traders from Masaka to Busia, lost control, veered to the right side of the road and collided with the oncoming truck.
Mr Mubi said police are yet to establish the cause of the accident adding that investigations have started.
He said the injured travellers are receiving treatment at Jinja Regional Referral Hospital.
