KIU student killed, body dumped in Mukono

In 2015, police in Kampala arrested two people in connection with the death of a KIU student Irene Kyakunda, who was a first year student of Public Administration.

KAMPALA. Students of Kampala International University (KIU) are mourning the death of their colleague Aziz Ojiambo, a fourth year student of Computer Engineering.

The university dean of students Ms Jovia Kalwana said Ojiambo’s body was found dumped in a bush in Mukono District after he had gone missing for some days.

“Our student’s body was found dumped in Mukono district. He was in his fourth year semester one. He will be buried in Namayingo District. May his soul rest in peace,” Ms Kalwana said.

By press time, police said they were still investigating to establishing Ojiambo’s killers and their motive.

In 2015, police in Kampala arrested two people in connection with the death of a KIU student Irene Kyakunda, who was a first year student of Public Administration.

Kyakunda’s body was discovered tied with a rope, raising suspicion that she had been gang-raped before she was killed. However, the police later ruled out gang-rape after postmortem results indicated that the deceased suffered excessive bleeding resulting from induced abortion.
