Pope Francis visit excites Ugandans

Kampala.

News confirming the pope’s planned visit to Uganda has been received with happiness, with Ugandans cheering up for the pontiff’s visit come November this year.

Those that Daily Monitor talked to yesterday said they cannot wait to grab the rare opportunity of having a glance at the pontiff for the very first time.

To others, the visit presents an opening for them to renew their faith. His visit also puts Uganda on the world record, being the first African country that the new pope intends to visit.

“It is with great joy that he is visiting. We are waiting with excitement and now preparing spiritually and ensuring that infrastructure is in place,” the Rubaga Cathedral administrator, Fr Joseph Mary Bbuye said yesterday.

Pope Francis is planning to travel to Africa in November, specifically to Uganda, Central African Republic, and possibly Kenya.
