Two bodies recovered from a rented room in Luweero

LUWEERO-Police in Luweero District have recovered bodies of two youth from a single rented room at Busula Town in Luweero District.

Luweero District Police Commander, Mr Benson Byaruhanga says investigations are ongoing to know the cause of death of the two youth who were reportedly engaged in chapatti business.

“We retrieved a burnt source pan and charcoal stove from their rented room,” Mr  Byaruhanga said.

Busula Town  Chairperson, Mr Edward Lutwama said the two youth identified as Emma Kamoga and Robert Kanyike established a Chapati business in the area two weeks ago, after shifting from Kalongo Village in Nakasongola District.

“They have been selling chapatti and boiled beans in Busula Town. The police recovered a charcoal stove and a source pan containing burnt beans. We suspect that they suffocated to death after leaving the beans cooking on the charcoal stove and went to bed,” Mr Lutwama said.

Mr Paul Kangave, the Savannah Region Police spokesperson, said they are waiting for a post-mortem report. The bodies were taken to Luweero Health Centre IV mortuary.
