KAMPALA.

Kenyan Jaspreet Singh Chatthe has never finished the V- Pearl of Africa Rally in three attempts.
But with the ARC title at stake this time round, he hopes his luck will change.

“I have been unlucky in the previous events. But I hope this time round I will be on the podium,” the Kenyan driver who leads both the ARC and KNRC told the Daily Monitor on phone. “I want maximum points from this event which will make the Madagascar rally irrelevant, but in sport you cannot guarantee anything.” The Madgascar Rally is the last event on ARC calendar in November.

Chatthe, 36, who was leading the Pearl early on day two last year before he dropped out, is expected in the country tomorrow ahead of reccing.

Consistency has been the key to Chatthe’s success this year. He won in South Africa in April, Zambia in May and Rwanda at the beginning of this month to collect 75 points. He has only failed to finish in Tanzania in June.
