KAMPALA.

SC Villa started the second half of this season’s Azam Uganda Premier League seeking to end their 14 year trophy drought. Express on the other hand were preoccupied with staving off relegation after a poor first round.
But as the two traditional giants clash at Wankulukuku this evening, their respective ambitions will be hanging by a thread for various reasons. A solitary win in three games has left the Jogoos six points behind leaders Vipers and needing maximum points today to keep their faint hopes alive with three games left.
Much of their poor results have been put down to self-destruction with head coach Wasswa Bbosa, serving the final game of four-match ban following his altercation with referees.
In that period he also accused his assistant Paul Mukatabala of sabotage leading to the latter’s departure.
But Bbosa who defeated Express 1-0 in the reverse fixture at Masaka Recreation Ground thanks to Alex Kitatta late strike remains confident.
“I will have no mercy for Express if they go down after losing. I’m on job here and I want to win to stay on course of fighting for the title until the end,” Bbosa told Daily Monitor yesterday. Villa has dominated this cross-city rivalry in the last seven meetings, winning five, drawing once and losing once.
