Farm Clinic leads the way on value addition

Every passing year, farmers witness first-hand the devastation changing climate inflicts on their farms.
From severe droughts along the cattle corridor stretching from western Uganda through the central region to Teso and Karamoja in the north-east, to ravaging floods in Mbale, Manafwa, Bukedea, Bududa, Kumi, Soroti, Katakwi, Amuria, Lira, Pader, Kitgum, Nebbi, Gulu and scattered areas of central Uganda, farmers look for support.
Helping farmers in their greatest need is ‘business as usual’ during Seeds of Gold Farm Clinics.

This important value was proved during the 16th edition of the Farm Clinic held at the National Coffee Research Institute (NaCORI) in Kituuza, Mukono District.

Bananas attracted the biggest number of farmers especially asking questions on best.


The Chinese government represented by its ambassador to Uganda Zheng ZhuQiang, finds strong need to support Uganda’s agriculture leading by example.

The Chinese government donated irrigation equipment to three winning projects to enhance their farm practices. Guma Association, Agrorin Rural Institute and Buikwe Diary Development Association, were each beneficiaries of no-strings attached materials.
“The old technologies work but are no longer effective. Climate change is a global challenge and China is committed to the solutions through climate-change commercialisation,” ZhuQiang said.
