About 250 homesteads in the eight parishes of Kagulu Sub County in Buyende District have been eroded by floods, leaving various residents homeless and helpless.

While visiting the affected villages in Kagulu, Iyingo, Bumogoli, and Nkoone on Wednesday, the Budiope East MP, Mr Geoffrey Dhamuzungu, said he has already communicated to the concerned ministries for assistance.

“I have already contacted the relevant ministries for humanitarian assistance and with government we shall reach out to most of you; luckily, we have not registered any death,” he told the residents.

Mr Dhamuzungu warned residents of more floods since the rains are not about to stop, and urged them to always be prepared to assist each other.

He also encouraged them to work towards food security and donated start up assistance to the affected families.
