14-year-old Kamuli pupil succumbs to cardiac arrest

A post-mortem report released by Kamuli General Hospital indicates that 14-year-old Emmanuel Mukembo died of cardiac arrest.
Mukembo, a primary five pupil at Butabala primary school collapsed and died instantly on Friday during the 400-metre race contest held at Busota primary school in Kamuli municipality.
School authorities reportedly tried to provide first aid to Musoke but it was too late for him.
According to a copy of the post-mortem obtained by URN, Mukembo suffered blood pressure coupled by a cardiac arrest which caused his death.
Ms Sarah Nabirye, the deceased’s grandmother said the school management agreed to foot the burial expenses.

“It is hard to accept the death of my only grandchild, but for now, the school management has agreed to foot the burial expenses,” she said.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Madiri, the Kamuli District police commander said police have already started investigating the death and will release a conclusive report.
“The post-mortem report is a sign of relief to our investigations, but as police, we are still making inquiries and a conclusive reported shall be released on the same,” he said.
