Private security guard shoots UPDF soldier dead

A Uganda People's Defence Force (soldier) has been shot dead by a security guard.
The deceased has been identified as Geofrey Ogwang who was also playing for the UPDF Basket Ball team, according to Mr Luke Owoyesigire, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesman.
Police identified the suspect a guard attached to SGA, a private security company.
The suspect is said to have been deployed at Stabex Petrol station in Mbuya, a Kampala suburb where the shooting happened.
“It is alleged at around 12:00am in the morning when a boda boda rider Carrying Ogwang Geofrey decided to branch at Stabex for fuel, but the fuel pump attendant decided to serve the motor vehicles first, it is from there that an argument between Ogwang and the pump attendant started,” a statement issued by Mr Owoyesigire reads in part.
