KAMPALA. Police in Kampala have opened investigations into a case in which a 6-year-old schoolgirl went missing from Greenhill Academy Buwaate Campus on Tuesday evening.
The girl, Ms Nicole Mitala, went missing when a yet-to-be identified female showed up at the school and picked her up claiming she was taking her home.

Teachers and administrators at the school were moments later shocked when the rightful person who had earlier been tasked with picking her up arrived at the school demanding that the girl be handed over to him.
A member of the family, Mr Simon Munywevu, declined to discuss the matter for fear of jeopardizing investigations, but the spokesperson of the Police in Kampala Metropolitan area, Mr Emilian Kayima, said experts in child-related crime are on the case.

“We are wondering whether it was a case of connivance or negligence on the part of the school’s administration,” Mr Kayima told Daily Monitor on phone on Wednesday.
Mr Kayima said the police had by this afternoon questioned teachers and administrators at the school, but hastened to add that they are not being held in custody as social media would have the public believe.
The police was, however, tight-lipped about the exact number and identities of those who were questioned.
