"He reported that his herdsman Kamugisha had gone missing. The incident happened on the December 03, 2019 at unknown time. Information was sent out about the theft on different police communication channels and Police in Kikajjo intercepted the suspects and they were arrested for being in possession of suspected stolen cattle and sheep," Mr Onyango said on Wednesday.

"On interrogation, the suspects revealed to have stolen the animals from Kitovu and that they had killed the herdsman. The suspects led police to the scene where they murdered Kamugisha from and the body was recovered. The scene of crime was examined and body taken to City mortuary for postmortem," he added.

"The suspects were charged with murder and stealing animals pending thorough investigations into the matter," Mr. Onyango said.
Theft of cows, goats, pigs and chickens in Kampala Metropolitan Police area and its suburbs is high.
Stolen animals are often loaded in sedans and later sold to butchers.
Now, many urban farmers with few animals lock them in their homes at night for fear of being stolen.
