KAMPALA. Speeders will be in the mix as Victoria Race Track in Garuga hosts the first double header event in a while.
Riders will battling for points in the sixth round of the National Motocross Championship whereas drivers will be all out to fundraiser for Paramedic Ambulance worth UGX110m ($30,000) at the double circuit. The penultimate round is going to be competitive in all categories save for MX2 where Isma Mukiibi has won all the five rounds to accumulate 300 points.

His nearest challenger Rodrigo Franco Oliviera is 149 points behind. In MX50 cc Junior, Ashraf Mbabazi, Jonathan Katende, Liam Ntale are separated by 60 points. Whoever comes out top will have the advantage going into the last round in November.

In the MX 50cc, the form of Pascal Kasozi has made it a three-way battle with championship leader William Blick Jr and Miguel Katende. Blick Snr, the UOC president earlier in the week acknowledge to the Sunday Monitor that the title is still up for grabs but think his son’s experience will give him the edge.

Elsewhere, Kreidah Nsubuga will take on Gift Ssebuguzi and Alon Orland for supremacy in MX65cc. Stav Orland is 52 points behind Waled Omar in MX85cc after missing the last two rounds but the former is the rider to beat. Ali Omar and Fortune Ssentamu are also ready to renew their rivalry in the MX125 category.

After the MX, the top drivers will use the sprint as a warm for Kabalega Rally next month.
Some of the pairings the fans will enjoy include: Arthur Blick Jr taking on fans’ favourite Duncan Mubiru ‘Kikankane’, Yassin Nasser against three-time national champion Ronald Ssebuguzi while two-time national champion Ponsiano Lwakataka will square off with Susan ‘Super Lady’ Muwonge. Fifty drivers are expected to take part.
