KAMPALA- Consecutive losses including Friday’s heartbreaking 2-1 dedeat over Express have kept the fingers crossed and mood low in Nyamityobora’s camp as the future grows bleak for all promoted teams as they occupy the relegation places.

The chances are slim with the Abanyakare having just seven points from 14 games so far. Yet survival looked even more unlikely even after hiring Asaph Mwebaze following the exit of James Odoch as player strikes have forced him to name youth players in the squad.

It is a mind-numbing complex survival scenario but the task for Nyamityobora is relatively simple as they battle fellow strugglers Paidha in the last game of the first round. Nyamityobora have to beat Paidha and finish the round with 10 points.

The second part of the equation might be the easiest for Mwebaze, who is keen on rebuilding the squad around commitment, discipline and hard work. He will not rush for experience as this option left the club in the mess it finds itself although he needs depth.

Meanwhile, there is no simpler equation than the teams on the edge faltering in the second round. Some of these like Tooro United, Maroons, will play at Kakyeka Stadium, a place Mwebaze thinks will be vital for any survival chances.

He used the first chance well beating Ndejje University 2-0.
