JINJA- With a collection of newbies, the odds have been against defending champions Buddo SS at this year’s Copa Coca-Cola schools games.

Only three starters are remnants of last year’s all conquering side. Yet a good start in Jinja has seen them win all their two opening games.

But one star player already turning heads is their 17-year-old holding midfielder, Hamza Mulambuzi, who is understandably capable of reaching great heights.
The opening game against Mwiri was a 2-1 win and even though they did not play well, they got all three points.

Good for two
Yesterday against Lira’s defensive-minded Alliance SS, Mulambuzi’s brace took him to three goals.

Mulambuzi is capable of scoring and creating goals from any position. Recruited from Kimaanya after impressing at Kakungulu, Royal Giants and Mawokota County, Mugerwa is already considering club football for his towering gem, who turned Born-again four years ago.

“I believe he has a great future ahead of him,” Mugerwa said.

Mulambuzi is already working to become a top professional with the Uganda Cranes his dream destination locally.

Jipra impress
Jinja Progressive, who returned to the competition after a successful appeal against Agape SS, have stabilized with three wins so far.
Yesterday, they beat Lango’s Restore 2-0 with Alex Okello and Jan Emma on the scoresheet. It was Okello’s second at the tournament.
Mike Ssebaggala, Jipra’s head coach says they have not hit their peak yet he wants his boys to go all the way to the finals.
