Police moved out of the relegation places and Livingstone Mbabazi made a losing start as Wakiso Giants coach to complete the opening match-day of the Startimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) on Saturday evening.

The Cops won 2-1 to move to 15 points, one ahead of Tooro who dropped to the bottom three alongside Bright Stars on 13 and Proline on 12.
Ben Ochen continued his fine goal scoring form bringing his tally to 10 with a close range finish after receiving a pass from Arafat Galilwango and beating Fahad Kawooya inside four minutes.
Geoffrey Sserunkuma equalised for Wakiso with a left footed shot inside the box after Police failed to deal with a cross before Samson Kigozi scored winner in the second half.

The forward who was a first half substitute for Fahad Kizito guided a header past Wakiso goalkeeper Yasin Mugabi following a fine cross from another substitute Ruben Kimera.
“It is never easy going into a game when you are in the drop zone. So the win was important because it changes the mood and players get to believe in themselves more,” Mubiru said of the importance of the win.
