Kampala. The remaining 10 StarTimes Uganda Premier League matches to the end of the season will surely bring out the best in the topmost two contenders – Vipers and KCCA.

To bridge the four-point gap between them and leaders KCCA, Vipers must conjure victory at Onduparaka’s Green Light Stadium this afternoon – something they have failed to achieve in the last two attempts.

Tacticians Edward Golola and Michael Nam Ouma will be inspired by the fact that Vipers has not lost to Onduparaka in the last four engagements and Friday’s arousing 3-0 win over Bright Stars that kept the title chase alive.

“We still have a lot of work to do. We are going to continue making changes in the team,” Ouma, still missing injured Geoffrey Wasswa, told Daily Monitor.

Sixth-placed Onduparaka come off a morale heightening 2-0 away win over Mbarara City and Technical Director Leo Adraa has promised they are going to give it their all against Vipers.

At the StarTimes Stadium, KCCA manager Mike Mutebi acknowledges the ‘wide open’ nature of the league contest at the moment. KCCA has been held thrice and won twice in the last five outings.

“Yes we have not been playing well as we should have. My technicians (players) have not come to the fore, they are playing at 50 percent. We have not been colourful in our play, “Mutebi said ahead of a tough URA test.
“Sam Ssimbwa’s URA is a very organised defensively, their defence has conceded the least goals but the onus is on us to try to disintegrate their organisation.

“The league standing is still very open, we have to react to police draw.” The tax collectors, welcoming back Allan Munaaba, Benjamin Nyakojo and Nafian Alionzi who missed the Jinja SS win, lost 1-0 in the corresponding fixture at Namboole.
“We needed to take on KCCA after getting victory and we are now motivated. I played and coached at KCCA so I know how to get positive results against them,” Ssimbwa vowed.
