What you should know about Viagra

Viagra should be taken only after it has been medically prescribed. Wrong use can lead to negative effects.

Erectile dysfunction is a subject many men shy away from. And even for those who suffer from the condition, they would rather die silently than let anyone know about it. While there are men with a genuine problem, there are those who are out to seek enhancement for their prowess and therefore opt for the same drugs used in managing erectile dysfunction.

Erectile dysfunction is defined as the inability to achieve or maintain an erection, suitable for sexual intercourse. This can result from conditions such as a person’s state of mind, the nervous system or hormonal abnormalities or medication that a person may be taking. This means that the condition can also be managed if a person gets rid of stress or stops taking some medicines, the reason it is medically recommended. The most common drugs taken for erectile dysfunction is Sildenafil, also known as Viagra.

Other drugs are Kamagra and Penagra.
They come in 50 and 100miligramme tablets. The effect of using these drugs is increased penile blood flow, causing an erection to go on for up to four hours. With Viagra, it is advisable that a person begins with the 50miligramme tablet, at least one hour before sexual intercourse and on an empty stomach. They are also advised against taking alcohol.

The dose should only be increased depending on the response that one will get.
It is important to note that the drug is only effective if one is sexually aroused.
Those who use it recreationally could develop erectile dysfunction, as their bodies might be dependent on the medication to function.

Men with stomach ulcers, heart diseases, low blood pressure, sickle cell and leukemia are advised against using Viagra. It can also lead to side effects such as nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, backache and visual disturbances. Also, people taking drugs used to treat ulcers, antibiotics for tuberculosis or medicines used in the treatment of high blood pressure should not take Viagra.

More importantly, when you are taking Viagra, do not mix it with other drugs such as Penagra or Kamagra, which all contain the same active ingredient as this could result in negative consequences including death.
