  • They were on Friday morning attacked and shot dead by unknown gunmen reportedly riding on a motorcycle, about 100 metres from his home in Kulambiro, Nakawa Division in Kampala.

People who had gone to City Mortuary, Mulago to pick bodies of their deceased relatives are stuck after security officers denied them access to enable doctors conduct a post-mortem on the fallen police spokesperson AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi and two other officers.
One of the police officers deployed to guard the mortuary told people who had turned up to pick bodies of their deceased relatives that it would not be possible because there is still confusion at the mortuary.
"May be tomorrow that's when they will start accepting them to collect bodies of their relatives. As for now, there is still confusion at the mortuary and we can't accept them to enter,” the officer said.
The boda boda operators at the stage next to the mortuary have also been ordered to vacate.
The bodies of Kaweesi, his body guard Kenneth Erau as well as his driver, Godfrey Wambewo were taken to the mortuary for post-mortem at Mulago.
