Police reshuffles 10 Kampala officers

Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) Commander, Mr Frank Mwesigwa (pictured), has transferred 10 officers in charge of different stations in the KMP.

  • The transfers come barely two months after Inspector General of Police, Gen Kale Kayihura, transferred 50 Kampala Division Police Commanders (DPCs) and CID commanders to upcountry districts.
  • Gen Kayihura’s reshuffle of DPCs was influenced by continued implications of police bosses in cases of extortion, fraud and bribery.

KAMPALA. Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) Commander, Mr Frank Mwesigwa, has transferred 10 officers in charge of different stations in the KMP.
Mr Mwesigwa who replaced Mr Abbas Byakagaba has moved Ms Irene Kayema from Namugongo Police Station to Nansana Police Station, Mr Amir Kaboja from Mutundwe Police Station to Kitebi Police Station, Mr Shaban Mugyenyi from Kitebi Police Station to Mutundwe Police Station, Mr Ronald Muhumuza from Bugonga Police Station on Entebbe to Kira Road Police Station and Mr Sulait Kitaka from Kyengera Police Station to Central Police Station replacing Mr Ronald Mugabi who has been posted at Police Headquarters without designation.

Others include Mr Hendrcik Nuwamanya who has been moved from Kisasi to CPS, Fred Aikobua from Nakawuka Police Station to CPS, Mr Earnest Kankiriho from Lugonjo Police Post to Nakawuka and Mr Kennedy Sebagala from Kaboja Police Post to Kyengera Police Station.
This is Mr Mwesigwa’s first transfer of KMP officers in charge of Police Stations and Posts since his appointment as new KMP commander in June.
