KCC go into today’s final group B fixture against APR FC needing to at least a draw to make it to the knockout stage of this year’s Cecafa Kagame club championships in Kigali, Rwanda.

This is after Friday’s results saw APR eliminate Gor Mahia after a 2-all draw to move top with seven points followed by KCC on six.
Atletico meanwhile edged Telecom 2-1 to go level with KCC on six points, while Telecom remain fourth on three.

A draw between KCC and APR would therefore eliminate Telecom regardless of the result they pick up against Gor Mahia.

With APR having qualified, this (a stalemate) should not as difficult for coach George Nsimbe’s side recovered from their shock 1-0 loss to Telecom with a fairly commanding 1-0 victory over Atletico. Key to their performance will be winger Brian Majwega who is enjoying a rich vein of form since coming off the bench in the first game. He has pickedup two man of the match performances.

Another forward Brian Umony, having netted the winner - his second of the tournament - against Atletico, is once again expected to lead the line with Tom Masiko, Roers Lukwiya and Hakim Senkumba providing industry in midfield.

Nsimbe also has a choice to make in defence with Ronnie Kisekka available. Kisekka was replaced by Richard Kassaga after the former’s red card in the shock 2-1 defeat to Telecom .
