Kampala. A recurring ankle injury will keep KCCA midfielder Muzamir Mutyaba out of the epic Caf Champions League clash with Egyptian giants Al Ahly today at Namboole.

Mutyaba had only returned for the Proline league match last Tuesday when he sustained the nasty injury.
In fact, manager Mike Mutebi was over the moon for the timely return to fitness of the midfield duo of Mutyaba and Sadam Juma after the 2-0 triumph at Lugogo.

“These are players that use the ball well,” Mutebi told Daily Monitor, “Their return definitely adds to our strength. I have to say it’s the right time for them to return and we need them.

“We need them at the continent because they do give us depth, they bring experience.”
Mutyaba, who missed yesterday’s morning training session at Namboole, says he hurt his ankle ligament again when he came on as substitute against Proline.

Twisted ankle
“As I chased down Noordin Bunjo (Proline), I twisted the ankle again and felt the pain but played on until the end,” he said.

“The doctor (Ivan Ssewanyana) gave me an injection but the pain persisted. I won’t be able to play,” he said with a tinge of sorrow.
