A National Household survey released recently by Uganda Bureau of Statistics highlighted a number of issues that include the fall in poverty levels from 21.4 in 2017 to 20.3 percent in 2020. The report also shows increased access to mobile phones and the internet as well as increased connectivity to electricity, particularly solar energy and television ownership. NTV's Edward Muhumuza had a one on one with Julius Kapwepwe, the Director of Programs at Uganda Debt Network and he first asked him if the reported fall in poverty percentages in three years reflects actual gradual shift in the profile of the poor.
