SEMBABULE- President Museveni has said because the party prioritised Uganda’s development after coming into power in 1986, the country has been able to deliver growth in the education, power, health, defence, security and roads sector.

The NRM flag bearer made the remarks yesterday at Lwemiyaga Primary School playgrounds in Sembabule District.

Mr Museveni, who was accompanied by his wife Janet, told the residents that because of the assurance of peace and security, the economy has grown with the business community able to carry out their activities unhindered.

He said peace has contributed greatly to the growth of investments in the country, resulting in the collection of more revenue.

The President said under the NRM government, electricity has been extended from Masaka and Mbirirzi to Lwemiyaga and Ntutsi while the road from Mpigi to Sembabule through Kabulasoke and Maddu, is being tarmacked.

He said the projects have been undertaken because of the increased revenue that the NRM government has raised from within the country. He added that the road from Lwemiyaga to Lusalira through Makore, Sakasa and Kasambya will be upgraded.

The NRM flag bearer assured the people of Sembabule that their district will receive a roads unit equipment to handle the roads construction in the area. He added that the same equipment will be used to help in the excavation of valley dams in the district to cater for their water needs.

Mr Museveni advised the people of Lwemiyaga to play their roles in the wealth creation programme to fight household poverty.

He assured them that while government has fulfilled its role of establishing development projects, under the wealth creation programme Ugandans can eradicate household poverty.

He urged people of Sembabule to vote all NRM flag bearers to ensure that the party’s development programmes and sustainable peace continue.
