Police disperse Bobi Wine protestors in Kamwokya

A combined force of police and UPDF soldiers was Friday deployed in Kamwokya, a Kampala city suburb, where residents were protesting the alleged re-arrest of Kyaddondo East Member of Parliament, Mr Robert Kyagulanyi also known as Bobi Wine.
The security operatives who were engaged in running battles with the protestors, extinguished several bonfires that were ignited by the rioters in the middle of several roads.
Bobi Wine was on Thursday night blocked from travelling abroad to seek specialised treatment for injuries inflicted on him in detention by the security forces in Arua.
In a telephone interview on Thursday, his elder brother Eddy Yawe confirmed Mr Kyagulanyi was scheduled to fly abroad for further medication.
Bobi Wine was born and raised in Kamwokya where he operates several businesses including a music production studio.
Meanwhile, police and army have deployed heavily around Kampala to quell anticipated protests.
