Rukungiri By-election: FDC's Kyamadidi Vincent arrested over election rigging

FDC's former contestant for Rwampara Constituency in Mbarara district Vincent Kyamadidi has been arrested on charges related to election rigging.

An eye witness in Nyarushanje Sub County says Kyamadidi was found dishing out money to voters and inciting violence.
The Officer in Charge of Nyarushanje police station I.P Edith Nanteza has confirmed the arrest.
Nateza says, the 2016 Parliamentary Election loser was arrested from Sayuni Seventh Day Adventist Church polling station in Bihambiro, Bunono parish.
Meanwhile voting continues smoothly in most parts of the district.

The Rukungiri Woman MP seat fell vacant after Court of Appeal nullified Ms Winfred Masiko (NRM)’s election following a petition by Ms Betty Muzanira (FDC).
A total of 177,086 registered voters are expected to cast their vote. There are 9 sub counties and 4 town councils. Constituencies are 3 of Rukungiri municipality, Rujumbura and Rubabo.
