The Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) has closed Sentema North Road across Lubigi Swamp along the Kampala Northern Bypass.
This, UNRA says is due to the recent heavy rains that have caused the road to flood with vegetation from the swamp.

“We are closing off the road for public safety as the contractor undertakes emergency works to be able to restore smooth traffic flow. The public is also warned that with the onset of rains, the same situation could re-occur,” says Unra's media relations manager, Mr Allan Ssempebwa.
He advised road users to use Mityana road and other connecting roads as alternative routes in the interim.
