KAMPALA- Cranes coach Abdallah Mubiru was left hoping his team can find the attacking fluency needed ahead of their Chan 2020 Qualifier first leg against Somalia this evening.

The game is the first round of the qualification process for the tournament where only players who feature in the domestic leagues of their respective countries are eligible.

The winner after the second leg next Saturday, play either Burundi or South Sudan for a place in the final tournament in Cameroon.
But in the lead up to the first leg which is going to be hosted in Djibouti, Cranes have struggled to create the free-flowing kind of football Mubiru’s teams have come to be associated with.

In three warm-up games, the Cranes defeated URA 1-0 before losing to a select Kitara regional side and being held to a goalless draw by Proline.
“Hopefully by the time we play against Somalia we’ll have rectified those mistakes,” Mubiru said after the game against Proline.

He has a number of attacking options at his disposal with his starting team in the final warm up game against Proline including the KCCA contingent that joined the team upon their triumphant return from the Cecafa Kagame Cup.

That could see Muzamir Mutyaba start ahead of Tom Masiko alongside Taddeo Lwanga in midfield.
