A 23-year-old security guard has been remanded to Luzira Prison in Kampala on charges of theft of a loaf bread, six bottles of beers and two bottles of Soda.
Jimmy Opoka attached to Saracen Security Company Limited, a private security company, appeared before High Court Judge Elizabeth Kabanda on Tuesday and denied the offence of aggravated robbery against him before he was remanded.

Prosecution alleges that Opoka who was armed with a pistol on March 13, 2018 at Bukoto Street in Kampala stole the said items all valued at Shs 72,000 and threatened to shoot his colleague John Peter Apac (complainant). Apac who is also attached to the same security firm is the complainant in the case.

It’s alleged that on the said day, Opoka was deployed to guard at Kurb Bar and Restaurant at Bukoto but forcefully entered into the neighbouring La Fortaine Restaurant and stole the said items.
Opoka has been on remand since March 2018.
He was on Tuesday further remanded until December 4 when he will be returned to court as investigations continue.
