KCCA will need to score at least once to stay in the Caf Confederation Cup contention when they meet Algerian side Paradou in two weeks time.
But from the first leg they will have goalkeeper Charles Lukwago to thank for at least four splendid saves he made to deny the visitors in yesterday’s 0-0 draw at StarTimes Stadium. That left KCCA with slimmer hopes of progressing to the lucrative group stages considering their away blues in continental engagements.

Starting without an othordox forward, KCCA largely relied on the penetrative force of Muzamir Mutyaba, Allan Okello and Mike Mutyaba but the Algerians always got a way of foiling their attacks.
Mike had a long range effort saved by Paradou gangly custodian Toufik Moussaoui as was Okello after he dribbled through the middle.
But as ever manager Mike Mutebi painted a more positive picture going into the second leg.

Soccer. KCCA will need to score atleast once to stay in the Caf Confederation Cup contention when they meet Algerian side Paradou in two weeks time.

“It is a good result. We just need to go out there and play with belief and do your work. It is a balanced tie. I am confident because I know my players. I know we have a difficult task but we can overcome it,” Mutebi stressed. He must find a quick solution for Paradou’s passing game and balance attack and defence if he is to progress to the group stages to earn the Shs2bn. The Algerians while poor domestically this season have scored three times in their two previous home games.

“It is not always that way. We got about five goal scoring opportunities but did not make the right decisions,” Paradou coach Charlo said of his team’s previous continental games and his side’s performance yesterday.
